I’m thrilled to announce The Sunbeam, a new online magazine.

Stay tuned for our launch in Spring 2026. To borrow from a brand that is entirely coincidental and not at all our namesake (really!): “Reach for Sunbeam.” You’ll get to read and hear reporting that illuminates our world.

The Sunbeam’s reporting is powered by journalists from the Columbia Journalism School and adheres to the highest journalistic standards and ethics. We’re committed to telling nuanced stories in whatever medium is best: words, audio, visuals or other, more experimental modes of communication.
